Brooklyn Beckham’s Hilarious Cut Cameo in ‘Lola’: Nicola Peltz Beckham’s Directorial Debut

Nicola Peltz Beckham’s Lola Premieres with a Chuckle

In her much-anticipated directorial debut, “Lola,” Nicola Peltz Beckham not only takes center stage as the writer and lead but also unveils a quirky behind-the-scenes tale involving husband Brooklyn Beckham’s cameo.

The Hollywood Reporter recently caught up with the 29-year-old filmmaker, who shared a light-hearted moment about Brooklyn’s contribution to the film. While discussing the movie, Nicola revealed, “Brooklyn is actually really upset that he did get cut from his one little cameo.” The cameo featured Brooklyn delivering a simple “Hi” line, but his insistence on a British accent and direct camera staring led to the scene hitting the cutting room floor.

“I was like, ‘Oh God, we have to move on, good lord.’ So, Brooklyn ended up on the chopping block,” Nicola humorously explained.

Despite the cameo hiccup, Nicola expressed deep gratitude for her husband’s unwavering support throughout the filmmaking process. “I couldn’t have done any of this without him because he was such a massive support to me every day on set, which I’m so appreciative of,” she acknowledged.

Lola’s Release and Family Ties

“Lola,” released in theaters on Friday, features Nicola in the role of a 19-year-old woman navigating the challenges of 2002, working to rescue her younger brother from their troubled home. The film also stars Luke David Blumm and Virginia Madsen.

Brooklyn Beckham wasn’t the only family member involved in the project. Nicola’s brother, Will Peltz, secured a small role, but Nicola explained to The Hollywood Reporter why he couldn’t have a more significant part due to their familial ties.

“I wanted my brother to have a much bigger part, but the thing is, to anyone who might not know he’s my brother, they might be thinking, wait, why didn’t she end up with that guy?” she disclosed. “That guy seems great and he’s so handsome. But, like, okay, that would not work out.”

Celebrity Love and Support at the Premiere

Nicola and Brooklyn, the son of David and Victoria Beckham, have been together since October 2019, making their relationship Instagram official in January 2020. The couple announced their engagement in July of the same year and exchanged vows in a lavish ceremony on April 9, 2022.

At the recent premiere of “Lola,” Nicola was joined by her mother-in-law, Victoria Beckham, and brother-in-law, Cruz Beckham. She expressed her gratitude, stating, “For Victoria to fly out and for Cruz to be there and support me, it means so much to me. I was talking to everyone all night, and I didn’t even sit down once.”

As “Lola” continues its theatrical run, audiences can’t help but chuckle at the unexpected twist involving Brooklyn Beckham’s cameo. Nicola Peltz Beckham’s directorial debut promises both heartwarming family connections and light-hearted entertainment for moviegoers.
