Drake Bell Unveils Traumatic Past, Accuses Nickelodeon Coach of Sexual Abuse

In a harrowing revelation, former Nickelodeon star Drake Bell has disclosed disturbing details about his past, alleging sexual abuse by Brian Peck, a dialogue coach on Nickelodeon’s “All That” and “The Amanda Show.” Bell, known for his roles in various Nickelodeon series, including “Drake & Josh,” is set to share his traumatic experiences in the upcoming Investigation Discovery series, “Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV.”

Brian Peck, arrested in August 2003 on multiple charges related to sexual abuse, worked closely with Bell during his time on Nickelodeon. Peck’s legal troubles culminated in a no-contest plea in May 2004, leading to a 16-month prison sentence and registration as a sex offender. The specifics of the abuse remain undisclosed as the docuseries is expected to shed light on this when it airs later this month.

A teaser clip from “Quiet on Set” reveals that Bell will publicly discuss the abuse he suffered at Peck’s hands. The press release from Investigation Discovery emphasizes that this will be the first time Bell shares the story of the crimes committed against him, providing a glimpse into the dark side of the entertainment industry.

Variety has sought comments from representatives of both Peck and Bell, seeking additional insights into these shocking allegations.

The recent revelation takes an added layer of complexity with insights from the “Pod Meets World” podcast, where “Boy Meets World” cast members Rider Strong and Will Friedle reflected on their experience working with Peck. Despite Peck’s association with the podcast, Strong and Friedle opted to share their thoughts on their podcast instead, shedding light on their interactions with Peck during the allegations.

“Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV” is a four-part docuseries exploring the toxic work conditions prevalent in children’s shows during the 1990s and early 2000s. Focused on creators like Dan Schneider, known for Nickelodeon hits such as “iCarly” and “Zoey 101,” the series aims to expose the challenges faced by young actors in the industry. Scheduled to air on March 17 and 18 on Investigation Discovery, the docuseries promises an unfiltered look into the behind-the-scenes struggles of child actors.
