Bachelor’s Joey Graziadei and Kelsey Share Plans for ‘Long Engagement’ in New York City
Following their engagement on the Bachelor finale, Joey Graziadei and Kelsey Anderson are opting for a “long engagement” as they embark on their journey together. In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, the couple shares their plans for the future, including their decision to live in a “tiny” New York City apartment.
While the Bachelor alum, Joey Graziadei, expressed his desire not to rush into marriage, he emphasized the importance of savoring the present moment. “We want to promise our lives together, but we don’t want to rush it,” says Joey, 28. “It’s time now to enjoy this. We have the rest of our lives to celebrate it.”
Echoing Joey’s sentiments, Kelsey, 25, anticipates a two- to three-year engagement period. “We want it to be something that feels special together,” she adds, highlighting their intention to plan a timeless wedding surrounded by close friends and family.
In the meantime, the couple plans to host an engagement party in New Orleans, where Kelsey resides. Following the festivities, they will embark on a new chapter together in New York City. Despite Joey’s affinity for warm climates, he expresses excitement about living in the bustling metropolis.
“I’ve always wanted to live there, and Joey is supporting me in that,” Kelsey shares. “We’re young, and I think now is the time to live in a tiny, cramped apartment together and experience it.”
While they anticipate challenges, including adjusting to city life and living in close quarters, the couple is eager to embrace new experiences together. “Even if we hate it, at least we can say we did it,” Kelsey adds.
Looking ahead, Joey and Kelsey envision traveling the world and indulging in everyday activities as a normal couple. Despite the uncertainties, they remain optimistic about their future and the adventures that lie ahead.
